One of Human’s greatest desires is to be Happy. Since the dawn of Time, man has never stopped going above and below in search of that one thing, Happiness. Who doesn’t want to be happy? Everyone wants to be happy, and let me tell you; you may not be consciously aware all the time, or even majority of the time, but we spend most of our lives searching for happiness. The problem is, we are going too far to search, when it can be found all around us. Happiness isn’t too far away from us. Anyone can be happy without having to do too much; without having to explore or exploit the heavens and the earth. It could take only the smallest of things to be happy. In this video, we will bring to you the six paths to ultimate happiness. Do not forget to subscribe and turn on notifications in order not to miss out on more awesome content, that could change your life, only on the Dao of Life. Let us get started. I have always believed that if one wants to be truly happy, then they must find one thing, and that is;
THE FIRST PATH – PURPOSE
What is purpose? I will personally define it as why you are here, that is, your reason for being in this world. Why are you here, or why do you think you are here. I have never doubted in my heart that unless you find out your why in this world, then you can never truly be happy. Many people spend their entire lives trying to discover their purpose and they end up never accomplishing it. Others discover their purpose but are unable to truly fulfill it, due to the circumstances of life. So, in order to be happy, you have to find out what your purpose is, why you were brought into this world. This is one of the primary keys to happiness. Now the question is, how does one discover their purpose? I believe there is one simple way to do this. Take a look at the happenings around the world. The wars, the conflicts, the poverty, the hatred; and the things that are making life difficult and unbearable for our fellow human beings. Which of these makes you feel deep within you heart that, no, this cannot continue, I want to change this, or I want to do something about this. Do you get sad, or do you feel a burning sensation deep within when you see a brother fighting against a brother? Do you shed tears when you see someone in the streets homeless. Do you get angry when you see the many divorces around the world, or perhaps a child who hasn’t eaten. Then perhaps that burning sensation to want to change this is your purpose. Go out there and discover your purpose and try to fulfill it, then I tell you, you will find happiness.
THE SECOND PATH – PASSION
I have always defined passion as simply the thing or things that you love doing and will always find time, no matter what, in order to do them. This feeling comes from deep within and is one of the keys to happiness. What is your passion? Do you love cooking? Do you love Painting, Do you love Music, or Dancing, or Sports? Find out what your passion is. Throughout the majority of our lives, we will spend time doing the things we do not love. We spend time following the rules that the world has set for us and end up sacrificing our own happiness. You are told that you can’t do this or that, and you must do this or that. Many of us will grow up with our parents and family directing the way in which our lives should go, instead of helping us discover the things that we love doing. In the end we grow up sacrificing the things that should have made us happy, and instead doing the things we do not like to do, perhaps because they thought this was the best for us. No, it isn’t the best for us, it is the best for them. Never sacrifice the things that make you happy, and the things that you love doing are those things that will make you happy. It is these things that will take you away from the chaotic world we live in, and you will find yourself immersed in them, and in that moment forgetting all the difficulties of life. Find your passion, and never let go.
THE THIRD PATH – BELIEFS. What is your belief system in relation to happiness? What do you think will make you happy. What do you believe will lead to happiness. Do you believe that being rich will make you happy? Do you belief that perhaps being in that relationship will make you happy, or having a child, or traveling around the world, or doing those works of charity. Some will tell you, money doesn’t bring happiness, or getting Married will not necessarily make you happy, if you are not happy single, or poor. Indeed if you are poor or single and you’re unhappy, then becoming rich or having that relationship will not necessarily make you happy. However this is only because you only think these things will make you happy and do not truly believe deep within your heart that having them will lead to happiness. You aren’t certain that they will make you happy, and perhaps have only been made to think so by the trends of the world. Search your heart, look deep within; what do you really believe will make you happy, if you have them or do them. Find out what these things are, and you will find happiness. They might not make you completely happy, but they will bring you a certain level of satisfaction and contentment. Stay true to your beliefs.
THE FOURTH PATH – SIMPLICITY. Simplicity for me is one of the keys to happiness. It is the simplest of things, the small details that make us happy. Being simple is a gift, and I am not only talking about material simplicity but from within as well. The happiest of people are those who live a simple life. However, bear in mind that you do not have to be poor to live a simple life. Even if you are extremely wealthy, you can live a simple life, It is only a matter of choice. The poor spend their lives trying to become rich, and the rich spend their lives trying to become richer. In the end, the poor become unwilling to want to live a simple life, and the rich leave an extravagant and luxurious life. I am not saying that we shouldn’t strive to become rich, or we shouldn’t want to live a luxurious life. I am only saying, in search of these things, many become unhappy because they ignore the simple things that could make them happy. Many become arrogant and bitter instead of being humble and kind which are much simpler to do, and in the end are unable to find happiness. We make our lives so complicated and difficult by ignoring the fine details that could perhaps bring the hapiness that we’ve being searching for. You must not have that dream wedding, you must not have millions in your bank account, you must not buy that expensive house or car. Never ignore the simple things in life. Be content with what you have now, while striving for what you want later.
THE FIFTH PATH – MINDFULNESS. Some refer to this as a retreat, or withdrawal, and for those who are well versed with mental or spiritual well being, meditation. We are living in chaotic times. So much is going on in the world that, if we are not careful, we will live our entire lives in fear, anxiety and unhappiness. With the emergence of Social Media, we spend our time on the internet and forgetting that we have real lives to live, and perhaps it is this internet or virtual life that we are living, that is causing all of this chaos, anxiety and fear, which eventually leads to unhappiness. We have become so immersed in this virtual or fake life that we now feel any moment away from it will make us depressed or unhappy, but what we do not know is that it is because this has become the normal. There is now an increasing need to withdraw from all of these. I urge you now to take time away from social media, and from all the chaos around the world and spend time with yourself and with nature. If you do not believe in spiritual meditation, then you should belief in taking a break from all the happenings around the world. Take about an hour everyday, switch off your phone and have nothing to with the online world. Leave all the aritificial noise, and go somewhere more natural to spend a few hours and try to listen to the noise that comes from nature. Spend a decent part of your weekends doing these and you will slowly get in tune with the natural world and will discover yourself exuding joy from deep within than ever before. Most of the depression, fear and anxiety and eventually unhapiness in the world is caused by social media, and the endless artificial noise. I urge you to take some time away from all of this, and on a consistent basis, and you will be one of the more happy ones in the world today. Do some research about meditation and see if it is for you. We were made to be natural and we are happier that way.
THE SIXTH PATH – WORKS OF LOVE or Compassion. I have this quote for you; Love is all we need, each and everyday. Love can make the world go round, so love in your own little way’. The more you love, the more happy you are. The more you help your fellow brother or sister, the more you call your loved ones to see how they are doing. The more you try to help that child who is hungry with food, or save that person whose life is in danger, the happier you will be. Make sure to show love in your own little way. We were born out of love and that is who we are. Have you ever felt a sensation within, a warm burning sensation, whenever we help someone the best way we can. Perhaps it was only by offering them water to drink. This sensation is a feeling of satisfaction from doing something good. There is a fire in us that burns brighter each time we extend love to our neighbor. The more we carry out acts of love consciously or subsconsciously, the brighter the fire burns. So, every single moment of our lives, if you can help someone, no matter how little, never let go of the opportunity. The more we help, the happier we become. Love is one of the keys to happiness. Start with your loved ones, then go out there and help someone. I talked about finding your purpose in the first path. Let me tell you this, Love is the ultimate purpose, of every single one of us in this world.
